AEW star MJF’s International Championship challenger has now been revealed, ahead of MJF defending the gold in another promotion.

MJF won the International Championship from Will Ospreay on the July 17 Dynamite episode, pinning Ospreay with just seconds before the time limit elapsed.
Following his win, MJF announced that he’ll be defending the title at the August 2 CMLL Viernes Espectacular show in Arena Mexico.
CMLL held a one-night tournament to determine MJF’s opponent on Tuesday night.
Templario was ultimately victorious, winning the tournament to earn a shot at MJF’s AEW International Championship.

Rugido, Zandokan Jr, Flip Gordon, Stuka Jr, Valiente, Esfinge and Averno were also involved in the tournament.
Templario defeated Averno in the finals following an avalanche powerbomb combination which you can watch below.
AEW/ROH has ramped up its working relationship with CMLL in recent months, with CMLL stars competing at Forbidden Door, and the ROH TV Title changing hands at a CMLL show.

During the AEW International Title match, Will Ospreay encouraged a young fan to punch MJF during the duo’s brawl through the crowd.
The young fan has now revealed a gift she received from Ospreay, which you can read more about right here.
