Ahead of the company’s return to Japan, former NJPW star Karl Anderson of The O.C. says he is planning to retire in WWE.
Before joining WWE in 2016, former IWGP Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were considered one of the most decorated tag teams in New Japan Pro Wrestling history.
Anderson & Gallows were also two pillars of the Bullet Club faction and multi-time champions.
Although the duo was released from the company in 2020, The O.C. returned to WWE in 2022 with no intention of ever leaving again.
On the latest edition of Talk’N Shop, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were asked if they would retire in WWE or potentially return to Japan at some point. Anderson answered:
“I romantically love Japan. I have to go back to Japan. I will go back to Japan. I miss Japan, badly.”
“I do see ourselves retiring in WWE. I see us as full brother WWE guys until the end.”
Answering the same question, Gallows replied:
“My answer is that we’re never going to retire. It doesn’t matter where. We’re going to go back to Japan lots. It’ll be fun. We have no thoughts of retiring. Not even an inkling.”
Anderson closed by saying the following:
“What I’m saying is, my full brain is ‘I’m a WWE guy’ until I’m gone.”
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows of The O.C. are part of the SmackDown roster, but have also been appearing on the WWE NXT brand.
On May 21, WWE announced the company will be returning to Japan for three shows in July.
